LEXINGTON, Va. - The Citadel (10-13, 4-8) heads to the friendly confines of Cameron Hall this Saturday to take on storied foe VMI (15-10, 7-6) in a nationally-televised SoCon meeting at 3:30 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.

ROCHE'S, BROWN'S 20-POINT STREAKS
Jason Roche and
Hayden Brown each posted back-to-back games with at least 20 points in last Saturday's win over Samford and Thursday at UNCG. Roche had a career-high 29 points against the Bulldogs and 23 on the Spartans, while Brown had 35 points and 21 points, respectively. Brown also had double-doubles in those contests, giving him 23 for his career, which is second all-time. The graduate student Brown has 21 games for his career with at least 20 points, while the freshman Roche has seven.
ROCHE'S LONG-RANGE PATH TO GLORY
Jason Roche became the first Bulldog in school history to hit at least seven 3-pointers in consecutive games, drilling seven at Furman on Feb. 2 and a career-high nine against Samford Feb. 5. His 93 triples (1st in SoCon) are most all-time for a freshman in one season at The Citadel and fifth-most overall. His nine threes last Saturday were one off from the school record of ten set by three players, most recently Connor Kern in 2019.

Jason Roche moved into fifth all-time with 93 made threes this season.
Hayden Brown earned his 23rd career double-double Thursday at UNCG for second-most in a career at The Citadel. His 21 points moved him into 15th all-time with 1,258 points, while his 11 rebounds is seventh all-time with 633.
Stephen Clark added one block Saturday to his career total of 117 for fourth all-time, while his 55 season blocks ranks sixth all-time.

Hayden Brown has played fully. After missing most of The Citadel's matchup with Chattanooga and sitting out at Furman, Brown showed no signs of stopping with his powerful performance Saturday against Samford, marking his sixth double-double of the year. He has scored at least 20 points in the team's last six wins.
HISTORY WITH VMI
The storied rivalry has remained evenly matched, with The Citadel holding a 58-57 lead in the all-time series. The rivalry took a heated turn in the last decade with the Keydets' re-entry to the SoCon in 2014-15, followed by head coach
Duggar Baucom's jump from the Lexington, Va. campus to Charleston, S.C. one year later. VMI took the first meeting this year at The Citadel, 90-85, and look to remain unbeaten at home against its former coach heading into its seventh matchup.
SCOUTING THE KEYDETS
VMI is 6-2 since beating The Citadel back on Jan. 15 and winners of its last four, defeating ETSU, UNCG, Western Carolina, and Mercer. The Keydets possess the SoCon's best scoring offense at 79.3 ppg, led by 6'1" center Jake Stephens' 19.0 ppg. that ranks third in the conference, along with his league-leading 9.0 rpg. He also leads the conference with a 55.1 field goal percentage (163-296) as the team ranks second at 46.6 (691-1482). VMI's touch from the charity stripe is also a league best at 77.7 percent (289-372).

Saturday's contest features the SoCon's highest-scoring teams, with VMI averaging 79.3 ppg. and The Citadel 79.1 ppg. It also features two of the league's top three scorers in Keydet Jake Stephens and Bulldog

The two rivals did not disappoint as the top scoring teams in the SoCon. Each side had four scorers in double figures, including The Citadel's
Jason Roche and
Rudy Fitzgibbons III leading the day with a respective 22 points and 21 points. VMI, however, got an early jump on the game and led by as much as 13 in the opening half. The Bulldogs rallied furiously in the second half, even taking a one-point lead at 73-72 with 5:40 remaining. The game was tied at 75-75 before the Keydets answered with an 8-2 run to pull ahead for good.
